ArtsForward is looking for submission for its annual HANDS ON exhibition in the Manawaka Gallery. HANDS ON features artists and artisans from the local area working in any medium. From miniatures to fused glass to embroidery to found object sculpture to photography to painting and quilting…we’ve shown it all and then some. Show us what you can do! Anyone in the community can submit up to three pieces to the show. Deadline to receive submissions is June 27, and the show will be on display in the Manawaka gallery until July 29.
We are also looking for submissions to our annual Outdoor Art Show, which will be held on July 23 from noon to 8 p.m. The Outdoor Art Show also accepts work in any medium, and is ideally suited to show larger pieces that would have difficulty finding a home in a traditional gallery. Artists in the Outdoor Art Show do not need to be from the Neepawa area. Pieces must be received by 10 a.m. on the day of the show, and picked up after 8 p.m., unless prior arrangements have been made.

The big news this week is that the VCC has a new name. Welcome to ArtsForward! We felt like the time had come to really express who we are and what we do in the community, and what we do is arts of all kinds! Music, Painting, Theatre, Dance, and just about any other kind of creative expression you can think of is all welcome and encouraged here.
We’ve also introduced a new Patron’s Program to help support our children’s and youth programming. Right now it is funding two after school arts classes, and we hope to expand that in the fall to encompass dance classes and a children’s concert series. You can find more information and a form to fill out on our downloads page.
The future is bigger and brighter than ever here at ArtsForward!
Our classes start up again in January, and right where’s where you can find out all about what’s going on at the VCC after the holidays! We have a PDF available for screen or print, or you can browse the calendar or the website menus to check out what’s up.
VCC Winter 2016 Newsletter.
Thanks to the generosity of our new Patrons’ Program, we are able to offer an after school arts program at a very low cost to students. If you would like to become a patron, please contact us here at the VCC.
