Information on fall classes will be available in August. Classes will include zumba, yoga, children’s dance, tai chi, after school art, music lessons, and more! Please let us know if you have anything you’d like to see in the coming year.

Winter 2016 Movement Classes

Gentle Vinyasa Yoga
Nancy Birnie
This class will begin with a sound meditation to calm the mind and body first. We will then gently flow through sun salutations and basic yoga postures to create space, balance and holistic health.

T’ai Chi
Vaughn Thorsteinson
Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
10 weeks: January 13–March 16
Wednesdays, 8:00–9:00 pm

Seniors’ Seated T’ai Chi
Vaughn Thorsteinson
T’ai chi forms and movements are adapted in this course for primarily a seated position. Ideal for people with limited mobility, balance, or flexibility.
10 weeks: January 14–March 17
Intermediate: Thursdays, 11 am–12 pm
Beginner: Thursdays, 12–1 pm

Winter 2016 Dance Classes

Preschool Movement and Dance
Kaylyn Roe
The dancers will explore space and movement in a creative way, using gross motor skills like running, jumping, skipping and galloping and different movement games to work on spatial awareness, balance and body control.

Jazz and Hip Hop

The dancers will learn basic jazz and hip hop dance steps working on form and control. They will learn choreography to a dance and perform for an audience during the last class.

Zumba
Kathie Roe
Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring!

Mondays, 7:00–8:00 pm
8 weeks: January 11–February 29
Adults: $75

Zumba Toning
Kathie Roe
Zumba Toning combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, glutes and thighs.
